Charleston Birds and Blooms May 10-11 2026

Charleston Birds and Blooms
Join Kate Silvia, a professional nature photographer and instructor based in Charleston, SC, for a special offering that only the locals know about. We'll start our adventure with a short presentation on Bird Photography and an overview of Magnolia Plantation and the Swamp Garden. We will then visit Magnolia Plantation in the afternoon. I have gotten permission to bring a small group of photographers into Magnolia Plantation and Gardens prior to opening on Monday morning. You're going to have access to Magnolia Plantation and Gardens 2 HOURS before they open and we'll be taking advantage of the early morning light, and almost no people, to photograph baby birds in the Audubon Swamp Garden. The workshop ends at 11 a.m. but your ticket is good for the swamp and gardens for the rest of the day. A post-workshop zoom session will be held several weeks after the workshop ends. This event is free and entirely dedicated to answering questions, going over images, whatever you guys want!
